Gemma Goodman

Gemma Goodman is a chronically ill Cornish woman and academic with a PhD in English Literature from the University of Warwick in the UK. She returned home to Cornwall in 2016 from where she continues her research on the representation of Cornwall and Cornish people in literature, and occasionally, in film and television. She currently works as a researcher on academic projects, as a project manager for cultural and heritage projects, and as a tutor and copyeditor. Her monograph, Alternative Cornwalls: Literature and the Invention of Place, was published in 2024. She is learning Cornish, the Celtic language which connects her to her ancestral roots, and which is being spoken by more and more people every year.
